Bein A Grown-Up

Hey all, long time no talk.

So I've noticed a few things having had moved out.

I imagined myself going to Disneyland before shift, after shift, and all days off. So what am I doing now on these two days I have off?

Last night I went home from DL three hours before closing, and today, if I go at all, it'll be to ride Splash Mountain once or twice and see Fantasmic.

Has DL lost it's appeal? HECK NO!

Has TOONTOWN lost its appeal? A million times YES. All I can think of is work when I get near there. Work isn't UNBEARABLE but it's not a great role either. It's a nice in-between that gets me through my days. My coworkers consider me to be the quiet outcast and I like it that way. Two reasons mainly: one, I'm the 'outcast' because I tend to be all-business at work and because I'm the youngest one by far there, and two because anyone who knows me well knows that a job where I can concentrate on my work independently. I have my own personal ways of coping with undesirable situations, so it gets me through.

I also don't know where I'd be without my friends. My "links to the old world" I call them. I miss them dearly but many of my friends who have gone through this assure me that the sting goes away eventually.

I've noticed that it's not just home I miss, it's being a kid I miss. And I simply can't do that forever. It's that thought that stops me from going back. It's been a roller coaster. I'm happy to be here and then not happy to be here, over and over. I suppose that'll go away soon too.

But anyway, as I was saying, DL has not lost it's appeal at all. On the contrary, I grew up in DL and it is my second home. I've just realized what being an adult is like: my idea of a day off is sitting in the house and doing NOTHING.

I'm enjoying it though. Tomorrow is a 4 hour shift which is especially nice.

I just went grocery shopping all on my own with my own money and felt REALLY darn cool doing so. I'm sure that'll wash away on it's own as well :P

I'm off to do more laundry, nap, and hopefully get to DL.

Comin Up to the End...

The song "High School Musical" officially makes me sad.

It's extremely relevant to me and my friends about to part ways.

I noticed a few things today.

While writing my letter of resignation for the Laughing Place, I realized I had no idea when my last day was, due to the possums getting out for winter break. December 18th. Woah, WHAT? That's four weeks ahead. Holy HECK. Two more paychecks and I'm gone. Dang...

I also got on the computer to do my homework today and realized I only had two assignments left in each class. Holy heck times two...

I'm excited to go right now, at least. I need some sort of widget that'll tell everyone when I'm happy or sad to go, haha.

Roller Coaster Riiiide...

Yea, I took lyrics from HSM instead today. I went there.

Actually I'm just running out of Song of the South lyrics :O I knew it would happen sooner or later.

So it seems I've fallen into that trap most Disney CPers fall into with these blogs: I stopped posting after I got accepted.

I'll post more lengthy things soon... Right now I'm trying to just sort out my life because I am both excited and terrified to do this.

More exciting stories to come later I'm sure...

Zipedee Do Da, Zipedee Ay, My Oh My What a Wonderful Day!

I'VE BEEN ACCEPTED TO THE DISNEYLAND COLLEGE PROGRAM!!!

AAAAAHHHHH!!!!

I was a bit disheartened today. The mail was an hour late and I was getting a lil teed. Mama Rabbit told me before my last trip to the mailbox to not be disappointed if I didn't get in because she just read that it was much harder to get into the Disneyland program than the Disney World program.

So I shuffled to the mailbox, now extremely anxious, not even caring what the answer was at this point because the anxiety has allowed me no sleep in two weeks.

And there was the giant white envelope. I pulled it out to make sure it was from Disney, and lo and behold. I was gonna open it when I got inside, but then I realized that wasn't gonna happen and opened it.

And there was that beautiful purple folder!!

I'll be Quick Service Food and Beverage. Not my top choice, but one of my top three's at least, and I hear it's a pretty desirable position; well payed, lots of hours, busy, all that jazz. And I wasn't kidding when I told my recruiter there are no bad jobs at Disney. I hope to get Blue Ribbon Bakery, Pizza Port, or especially the Gibson Girl ice cream parlor!

I'M SO EXCITED!!!

For those of you Laughing Place inhabitants wanting to squee with me about this, I'm off to youth group, but stick around, I'll be back later tonight to squee with you all!

I Zig and I Zag, I To and I Fro, That's What You Ask Me, That's What You Know...

Yes... Zigging and zagging from home to the mailbox... That's what I've been doing with all of my time. I'm so excited about this darn letter! :)

Me and Mama Rabbit are visiting my Sissy and Nephew Rabbit until Monday, so hopefully my mind will be off the letter in due time. I hear letters aren't going out until this weekend, so hopefully monday, tuesday, or wednesday will be the big day.

In the meantime, two of my good friends and Auntie R took the time to write to me today to tell me they're thinking of me and to hang in there. I'm so lucky to have so many people that care! I'm lovin it!

Perfect strangers on message boards are emailing me as well, saying they're crossing their fingers and hope to know soon, it's been awesome! I'm dreaming about working at Disneyland every night, I'm ready for it to be real already.

*crossing fingers*

Stop Jumpin Around You'll Run Out of Breath, Why Don't You Sit Down and Calm Yourself?

I'm gonna run out of Song of the South lyrics soon =O

So THREE MORE people have been accepted to WDW's program, and still no DL letters. Papa Rabbit left behind the mail key again today so can go check at 2 instead of waiting for him to come home at 5.

I'm trying REALLY hard not to waste break over waiting for this letter, but hey, isn't that what break's for? Doin nothing?

I JUST WANNA KNOW IF I GOT IN AND WHAT ROLE I GOT :P

Maybe if I go clean the Briar Patch a bit I can keep myself busy and Mama Rabbit happy til the mail comes.

The Weather is Good, The Fishin' is Fine, But What Do You Do With All of Your Time?

Run back and forth between the mailbox.

I thought being on fall break would distract me from the unbearable wait for the notification letter, but instead I just ran three trips to the mailbox.

2:00 the postman comes every day. Today is the day he decides to be an hour late.

On top of that I'm trying not to overly freak, cause there's a good possibility it's not even here yet today.

Tomorrow marks two weeks since my interview, the max amount of time they say it usually takes. I'll just DIE if it's three weeks. Unfortunately mail is pretty slow to get out here to the Briar Patch.

Baaah, this waiting thing is killing me! WDW applicants are being accepted left and right; get on the bandwagon, Disneyland!!
