Where Do They Come From...

Guest: *Stomps up* Where can I go to file a complaint on someone?!

Me: Um, you're gonna wanna head back out to Main Street and do that at the City Hall.

Guest: But if I wanna complain about someone do I have to wait in line?!

Me: Yes, ma'am. There's no fair way to decide who has a more pressing matter.

Guest: That's just ridiculous!

Me: Well I just came from there and there wasn't a line, so maybe it's still fairly empty right now.

Guest: You better watch it, I'm complaining about YOU!

Me:... Pardon me?

Guest: You heard me!

Me: Ma'am I JUST started my shift; may I ask why?

Guest: ... Your name isn't ***?

Me: ... No ma'am, I'm *Baby Rabbit*. *shows nametag*

Guest: ... Sorry then. *walks off*

This *** character must be quite the jerk...

Easiest. Mystery Guest. Ever.

Guest: Hello. I'd like to buy these three bananas, and I'd like to pay with a credit card.

Me: Alright. Bottled water or anything like that for you tonight?

Guest: No, thank you. *hands card* Where are the restrooms?

Me: *swipes* Around the corner on your right hand side.

Guest: Thanks. What time are the fireworks tonight?

Me: 9:15, right after Fantasmic at 9.

Guest: Okay. And how do I get to Small World?

Me: Keep going straight out of Toontown and make your first left.

Guest: Okay. Do you guys have any more apple juice?

Me: We're keeping it in the back right now. Want me to get you some?

Guest: Um, no thanks.

Me: Alright.

Guest: Can I See your nametag?

Me: *shows*

Guest: *scribbles furiously on paper* Okay thank you!

Me: Have a good night.

Bein A Grown-Up

Hey all, long time no talk.

So I've noticed a few things having had moved out.

I imagined myself going to Disneyland before shift, after shift, and all days off. So what am I doing now on these two days I have off?

Last night I went home from DL three hours before closing, and today, if I go at all, it'll be to ride Splash Mountain once or twice and see Fantasmic.

Has DL lost it's appeal? HECK NO!

Has TOONTOWN lost its appeal? A million times YES. All I can think of is work when I get near there. Work isn't UNBEARABLE but it's not a great role either. It's a nice in-between that gets me through my days. My coworkers consider me to be the quiet outcast and I like it that way. Two reasons mainly: one, I'm the 'outcast' because I tend to be all-business at work and because I'm the youngest one by far there, and two because anyone who knows me well knows that a job where I can concentrate on my work independently. I have my own personal ways of coping with undesirable situations, so it gets me through.

I also don't know where I'd be without my friends. My "links to the old world" I call them. I miss them dearly but many of my friends who have gone through this assure me that the sting goes away eventually.

I've noticed that it's not just home I miss, it's being a kid I miss. And I simply can't do that forever. It's that thought that stops me from going back. It's been a roller coaster. I'm happy to be here and then not happy to be here, over and over. I suppose that'll go away soon too.

But anyway, as I was saying, DL has not lost it's appeal at all. On the contrary, I grew up in DL and it is my second home. I've just realized what being an adult is like: my idea of a day off is sitting in the house and doing NOTHING.

I'm enjoying it though. Tomorrow is a 4 hour shift which is especially nice.

I just went grocery shopping all on my own with my own money and felt REALLY darn cool doing so. I'm sure that'll wash away on it's own as well :P

I'm off to do more laundry, nap, and hopefully get to DL.
